PokerStars largely leaves China
As you know, since September 1, PokerStars has left a number of Asian markets (which European Serbia has recently joined), such as Taiwan, Macau and China.
Although the situation with China was doubtful, everything has become clear since yesterday: PokerStars completely ceases all contacts with the Celestial Empire. PokerStars appeared to break off the relationship with 6UP / RedDragon Poker, a third-party skin that provided access to the global PokerStars player pool for Chinese residents.
However, PokerStars has recently launched satellites and online tournaments for the Japan Open Poker Tour, an offline event sponsored by PokerStars. jp. Japan is perhaps one of the few Asian regions where PokerStars still try to maintain its presence.
Giving all this information, we can draw the following conclusions:
• Due to the policy of Flutter Entertainment which also owns the Stars, the red-peak room have to lose its "gray markets".
• Obviously, the loss of the above-mentioned markets is not the last one. By the end of the year, Stars is likely to leave several more jurisdictions. And, by the way, it doesn’t mean that all of them will be Asian ones.
• The fact that the global player leaves Asia opens the way for local platforms and applications with a much more attractive conditions for play.
