From today, Betsson and Betsafe online poker rooms are unavailable for UK residents 

This decision was made by the management of the Scandinavian betting giant in accordance with the general corporate policy of the company which decided to leave its single representative on the British market.

The reasons for this decision lie in "significant regulatory and financial changes over the past few years." Simply put, Betsson AB management found it was a costly endeavor to invest into several UK brands against the background of tightening gambling legislation and the necessary marketing investments.

Betsson AB has a relatively small market share in the UK, and currently the Group's revenue amounts for approximately 3%. 

Thus, three of the four Group's licenses will be immediately transferred to the UK Gambling License (UKGC). The Group is going to focus closely on the tlbyjv brand - Rizk online casino.

The Group's eight UK brands are closed from today, and no further deposits or bets will be accepted. Customers of these brands will get all their deposits back, all unprocessed bets will be paid out as winnings.

As for poker, both rooms (Betsson and Betsafe) will no longer accept British players, but they will continue to operate in other markets.
