Roskomnadzor will ban the "mirrors " and fine websites for distribution the information about avoidance of locks
Roskomnadzor has confirmed its initial plans to introduce administrative responsibility for promoting workarounds for locks. Recall that in this case the individuals who spread such information would receive a fine of 10-50 thousand rubles, officials - 50-100 thousand, and the companies - 100-300 thousand.
But that's not all: Roskomnadzor plans to ban the "mirrors" of the sites which had already been blocked. Since gambling companies are actively generating alternative domain names, locking of the main domain does not often change anything, and the site is easy to get to with an alternative address.
Moreover, in the new bill the concept of "mirror" of the site has been introduced. It would be considered as a derivative website that has a similar name and content, as well as synchronized with the source site, even if the information on the "mirror" is translated into another language.
The head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov commented this idea: "Our proposals are about blocking "mirrors", requirements for search systems to remove the sites which have fallen under the eternal lock due to the decision of the Moscow City Court in a three days, and the administrative responsibility of the owners of those sites that promote ways to avoid locks for access to sites containing pirated information."
