PokerStars News: Overlay and Moneymaker’s leaving
The end of 2020 and the start of 2021 can hardly be called successful for PokerStars. To begin with, at the end of December, the $3,767,300 prize pool was accumulated in The Big Blowout tournament with a $5 million guarantee thanks to participants. Thus, the overlay of the tournament amounted to $1,232,700. This is an absolute sad record for Stars.
Previously, the red-spade room received an overlay in 2018, at the Sunday Million 12th Anniversary Edition, when the overlay was $1,205,000.
Another sad news came in early January. The permanent brand ambassador Chris Moneymaker who launched the poker boom in 2003 hasn’t renewed his partnership with PStars. This is undoubtedly a landmark event, because over the years of his activity, Moneymaker has become the embodiment of the absolute dream of poker success, when an ordinary person can achieve incredible heights and win millions just for a few dollars.
