Partnership between 888 and WSOP is extended until 2026
888 Holdings PLC and Caesars Interactive Entertainment announced that their B2B-partnership would be extended for five years.
This means that the 888 software will continue to support the WSOP in Nevada and the WSOP in New Jersey, and will provide future network extensions such as the WSOP PA and WSOP Michigan until at least 2026.
888 has supported the WSOP online poker client since 2013. In addition, it has also been an official sponsor of the WSOP for the past six years.
The decision to continue cooperation for at least another five years is a huge signal of intention. This also follows from the recent expansion of the partnership in Delaware.
Last June, 888 announced a two-year renewal of its exclusive B2B deal with the Delaware Lottery, and in January 2021, 888 announced a multi-year renewal of their exclusive B2B poker partnership with Caesars Interactive Entertainment.
These two deals strengthen 888's position in the US market.
One of the key insights of this deal will be the launch of the new 888 Poker 8 client at the WSOP.
The software update has been met with widespread approval in Europe, where 888 has been rolling out its updates gradually since late 2018. The new client has seen significant improvements in functionality and graphics.
Special attention has been given to mobile optimization - the new sophisticated portrait mode for mobile devices.
It took two years to implement the updated software, and there will also be the ability to host multi-day and multiplayer tournaments which will undoubtedly be of great value to the WSOP.
888 had a record year, with poker revenue growing 47.8% in 2020. This was partly due to Covid 19, of course, but client renewal was also an important factor.
