PokerStars and Full Tilt will merge on May 17
When in 2012, PokerStars acquired FTP, many experts expected that merge of two poker platforms would occur. However, it hasn't happened. Stars left FTP as a separate room hoping to resurrect its onetime glory, at the same time trying there variety of innovations. However, the miracle hasn't happened, and FTP continued to lose ground.
In February of this year, Amaya's management stated that soon Full Tilt would cease to exist as an independent brand, but the exact date hadn't been named. Today it became known that the official merger of PokerStars and Full Tilt will occur on May 17, and the FTP's software will be removed.
Representative of Full Tilt poker room Michael Josie said that in a few days players of Full Tilt would receive by email direct information about how it would affect them specifically. In turn, it depends on several factors including the jurisdiction of the players, the status of their accounts at PokerStars (if they have such), and other factors. Those who have accounts on both sites will receive an automatic association of these accounts into one.
