France plans to return to the all-European poker market
Last week the French Senate voted for three radically new amendments relating to the gambling laws of the country. One of these amendments proposes to allow other operators from the EU to work on the French market, as well as to combine the pools of players with other European reservations.
This initiative comes from the President of ARJEL Charles Koppolani who offered to combine gaming pools of Spain, Italy and possibly Portugal at the first stage. In Spain, this initiative is actively supported, and it was stated that since segregation of the Spanish market it has lost 40% of its liquidity.
Currently nine poker sites operate in France. And three of them: Winamax, PartyPoker and PokerStars hold up to 90% of the market.
Expected date of the actual combining of gaming pools - the first half of 2017 provided that the initiative will pass all stages of approval and coordinations.
